Maurizio Cattelan, Olafur Eliasson, Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons, Cindy Sherman, Richard Serra, Lawrence Weiner… – an extraordinary book of portraits brings together artists who have shaped KUB’s history during 20 years of exhibitions. Curator Rudolf Sagmeister has documented them all before, during, and after work. The photographs are testimonies to the close working relationship between the photographer and subjects, which has grown from working jointly on exhibitions at KUB. In addition some artists insisted on describing their own experiences at KUB and working with the institution. Director Thomas D. Trummer and former director Yilmaz Dziewior have provided insights into exhibition practices and the unique relationships that develop with artists. A comprehensive inventory of exhibitions and index of artists record the twenty-year history of Kunsthaus Bregenz.
