Exclusive special editions for Kunsthaus Bregenz are produced in close collaboration with the artist and their chosen materials.Thomas Schütte’s limited edition portfolio comprises eight intaglio prints. They are based on the watercolor series Blues Men, which was exhibited at Kunsthaus Bregenz in the summer of 2019. The prints are portraits of well-known blues musicians, animated portraits drawn in fast, sparse strokes on a plain background. Some of the prints are reminiscent of Pop Art screen prints, whilst others recall posters from the 1960s. Schütte focusses on the facial features of the musicians, modelling their expressions and masterfully capturing the atmosphere and moment.
