The Hafengebäude Rohner (Rohner Marina Building) by Baumschlager & Eberle in Fussach is fascinating with its seemingly floating configuration concrete and glass. Embedded as it is in the harbour conversation area of the Rhine delta at Lake Constance, this »flying space capsule« stands out with its light-weight and light-filled structure, clear lines and uncompromising simplicity. The Vorarlberg architectural partnership B&E unarguably plays a leading role in the international architectural debate. Carlo Baumschlager’s and Dietmar Eberle’s buildings exemplify aesthetic innovation and high quality standards which comply with both economic and ecological demands.
