Peter Zumthor – Kunsthaus Bregenz

The glass panels, which surround the main building are scale-like, »like slightly ruffled feathers« (Peter Zumthor). During the day, Kunsthaus Bregenz, designed by the Swiss architect Peter Zumthor appears as a semitransparent body of glass, at night as a cube of 30 meters height, which declares light as its theme, visible from afar. This volume presents the construction of the Pritzker Award-winning Peter Zumthor, with whom he won the Mies van der Rohe Award for European Architecture in 1998. Thus, the Bregenz Art House is one of the world’s most important museum buildings of contemporary architecture.
